What the film Tomorrowland says about your love of post-apocalyptic games

tland-590x330The movie Tomorrowland seemed like it would be a guaranteed hit; it was directed by Brad Bird of The Incredibles and The Iron Giant, the screenplay was co-written by Damon Lindelof (Lost, Ultimate Hulk vs. Wolverine). It starred George Clooney and Hugh Laurie with a pair of talented younger performers, and it was about a whimsical adventure through the world of tomorrow! Despite all of this, it received tepid reviews, and a poor box office response. It was extremely difficult to market, because its most profound story elements were part of a paradigm shift that only appears halfway through.
