War of the Dead – DVD Review

War of the Dead holds the distinction of being the most expensive film ever produced in Lithuania.  At over a million Euros, it is still a low-budget zombie movie.  Yet it is also an ambitious bit of historical fiction that follows a multinational team of soldiers who run afoul of zombies during World War II.  Can this band of brothers stand up to the combined onslaught of Nazis, Commies and flesh-eating monsters from beyond the grave?  Can the production live up to the potential of this awesome premise?
