The Backlog: Dreamfall & The Longest Journey

The Longest Journey has one of the best video game stories in the history of the medium.  This might seem hyperbolic, but it’s true.  The adventure game genre has long held claim to the best stories, dialog, humor and characters, with The Longest Journey standing tall among its peers. A sequel called Dreamfallcame out years later, and took the series out of the 2D adventure genre to make it a third person action/adventure.  Point & click fans cried foul, and I never bothered playing Dreamfall despite my love for its predecessor.  But the designer who created both games, Ragnar Tornquist, has a new project coming later this year, and I wanted to make sure I was up to date on the works of this talented Norwegian before his The Secret World hits shelves.  Continue Reading
