The Backlog: Mass Effect

Mass Effect 3 is almost here and soon Commander Shepard will complete Bioware’s space opera.  But before we rush through the game to see just how Shepard will save humanity from the Reapers, we should stop and take a look back at just how far she has come in the four years since she first showed up on the Xbox.  Normally on The Backlog I try out a game that I never played, but I actually played the hell out ofMass Effect back when it hit PC in 2008.  Unfortunately, I played it on a computer that had the exactminimum tech specs needed to run the game.  While I enjoyed the story, I do remember it as a fuzzy, grainy, blurry experience.  Now, several Graphics Cards later, with both of the DLC packs installed, I can have a proper look at the humble beginnings of Commander Shepard.  Continue Reading
