The Backlog: Assassin’s Creed

“In the distant future there exists a secret society that uses a device to relive the memories of their medieval ancestors and unravel the mysteries of a hidden war between the Knights Templar and the Secret Order of Assassins.”  The whole concept behind the Assassin’s Creed games sounds like something fished out of Dan Brown’s garbage can while he was working on The Da Vinci Code.  Knowing a bit about the real life history of the Order of Assassins the games are based on, I was a bit turned off to the series, as I did not care for the idea of playing as a murderous, religiously fanatic, reefer addict.  I’ve since learned that smoking hashish and praying aren’t actually big parts of these games, but I still never quite got into the series.  Continue Reading
